December 2021

We started out the month by spending a few days in Frederick, MD, once again pet sitting for Tino.  Our first time looking after Tino was back in August.

With Ralph and Carlie in San Antonio

In the middle of December, we traveled to San Antonio to visit with Ralph and Carlie.  This was our first opportunity to see them since they sold their home in California and moved to Texas to be near their grandchildren.  They purchased a home on 2 acres located about 15 minutes outside of San Antonio.  Add some miniature horses, a regular sized horse, some ducks, chickens and dogs and you have a mini-ranch.  We had a great time, great food and did a little sightseeing.

During Christmas, Chrissy and Johnny came out to Maryland to join the family for holiday festivities.

Sitting in Seattle

We Sit For You

OK, see what I did there?  “Sitting in Seattle”?  Not Sleepless.  That would have been cheesy and, well inaccurate.

Anyway, so we are house and pet sitting in Seattle for 17 days.  First and foremost, we are looking after a 9 month old puppy, Mia.  She is a lively and adorable young dog that has been getting some very good training from her owners.  She’s very smart and has adapted to being with us very quickly.  Like all puppies, she is playful and inquisitive.  She loves to chase a laser pointer around the living room floor and insists that we give her that opportunity at least twice each day.  Also, she loves to eat ice.  Just crunches away at it like it was a favorite treat.

We arrived into Seattle as a waypoint on a road trip that we began on May 30th that brought us up the coast of…

House Sitting in Rancho Cucamonga

Over the Memorial Day weekend (May 22 through May 27, 2014) we had the opportunity to house sit in Rancho Cucamonga with a super nice cat named Simba.  Our hosts took a trip to the Portand, OR, area in order to attend a photography workshop and visit with family.

They adopted Simba from someone in their neighborhood who wasn’t providing very good care for him.  His new owners provide a very nice home for him and he seems really happy to be there.  He spends most of his day out visiting and exploring his territory so he was super easy to sit for. Las Vegas, Housesitting and More

We recently had the opportunity to house sit in Las Vegas, returning to sit for a very nice couple who we originally met two years ago on one of our first house sitting assignments.  You can see a little more about it here.

While visiting Las Vegas (pics) we took the opportunity to have some nice meals, verified once again that we are no good at gambling, did some hiking in Red Rock Canyon and checked out the newest attraction, High Roller.

Sitting in Torrance, CA

For two weeks we’re here in Torrance, CA, house and pet sitting with three Yorkies and a lovely little song bird.  Our friends Tim and Dinah are on a two week trip to Costa Rica.  Their comfortable home is at the very southern edge of Torrance on the border with Palos Verdes (or is it Rolling Hills?).  At any rate, the home is quite nice with a beautiful sactuary like back yard.

Needless to say, the Yorkies are very easy to care for and lots of fun.  We’re here from March 6 until March 21, 2013.
