This is the first time we have traveled (in our motorhome) outside of the state of California since January 2017, about 15 months ago.  We drove in our car to Tahoe for skiing earlier this year but otherwise we spent all of 2017 and the first part of 2018 in California.  We crossed into Oregon on Highway 101 while moving from Crescent City, CA, to Coos Bay, OR.

Navarre is located in the Florida panhandle, on the Gulf Coast, a little east of Pensacola and a little west of Ft. Walton Beach.  Navarre Beach is located on a barrier island which is about 1 mile offshore.  We are parked at the Emerald Beach RV Park.

Emerald Beach RV Park

Pacific Northwest Seafood

One of the things we enjoy about visiting different parts of the United States or different parts of the world, is having the opportunity to sample the many different foods that have become iconic for that particular location.  The Pacific Northwest has established itself as a source for a wide variety of fresh seafood.

Oysters on the half shell, steamed mussels from Penn Cove on Whidbey Island, crab cakes, salmon, steamed clams in roasted garlic pesto, oyster shooters and fish and chips.  All fresh and locally sourced.
