In keeping with our desire to visit State Capitols when we have the opportunity, on our drive from New Orleans to Lafayette, LA, we stopped off in Baton Rouge to see the Louisiana State Capitol (pics). This is a very interesting and very beautiful Capitol building.

The French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Gulf Shrimp, jambalaya, gumbo, music, the Mississippi River. New Orleans (pics) is all that and much more. I don’t think there’s anything new I can offer from our visit to this city. Simply, we were looking forward to this stop very much. Let’s start with the food.
