Following our time in Belize, we reversed course and took a boat to Chetumal, Mexico.  From there we got a shuttle to Playa del Carmen and then another shuttle to just outside of the Cancun airport.  Here we got a taxi to Cancun’s hotel zone to spend 5 days prior to our return to the US.

We stayed at the same hotel (photos) where we stayed in 2012, the Grand Oasis Sens.  It suits us well since it is an adult only hotel, not too big but big enough to have good restaurant variety, a nice pool and plenty of activities and entertainment.

We had a good time, enjoyed the pool and had some good food.  On November 6th it was time to return to the US.

We chose to end our trip to Mexico in Cancun (photos) and to take a little vacation there.  Now, I know some of you are thinking, “Vacation?  I thought you were already on a vacation.”  We think of this as a vacation since it is so different from our regular type of travel.  And, Cancun itself is very different from most of the rest of Mexico.  Some people would say that it is not the “real” Mexico.  But it is a very beautiful place with terrific places built for tourists to enjoy.
