The Butchart Gardens and Victoria, BC
We wanted to make a day trip to Vancouver Island (pics) in order to visit The Butchart Gardens and the city of Victoria, BC. In order to do so, we drove about 20 miles south of Richmond, BC to the Tsawwassen terminal for BC Ferries. These ferries transport passengers and vehicles to the Swartz Bay terminal on Vancouver Island. The trip was about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Vancouver (pics) is the eighth largest city in Canada and the largest city in the province of British Columbia. It is said to be the most ethnically diverse city in Canada with 52% of its residents with a first language other than English. We stayed in Richmond, BC, a city just to the south of Vancouver. Two-thirds of Richmond’s residents are Asian, mostly Chinese.
