The Greenbrier, located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, is a world class resort with a history dating back to 1778. It has 710 guest rooms, including 33 suites and 96 guest and estate houses. With a championship golf course, a casino and extensive meeting facilities and ballrooms, The Greenbrier hosts corporate events, weddings and other celebrations.
Earlier in our road trip, we had the opportunity to visit the Rio Grande River Gorge Bridge which is the seventh highest bridge in the US at 660 feet above the riverbed. This bridge is located near Taos, New Mexico. This caused me to check out the other bridges higher than this one and found that our route would take us near the New River Gorge Bridge which is the third highest towering 876 feet above the New River in West Virginia.
As we headed east through West Virginia, we stopped in Charleston (pics), in order to visit the state capitol building.
