Our visit to Pleasanton was to allow us to see friends and family and some places of interest in the San Francisco Bay area. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to visit all of the places we had intended since Kevin was under the weather with a cold for the first 2 or 3 days. While in Pleasanton, we parked at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
We did enjoy nice visits with some of Valerie’s dear friends from the days when she lived in this vicinity. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner with Valerie’s cousin Marcy and her boyfriend Marc who have just moved into a beautiful apartment with a stunning view of Lake Merritt in the heart of downtown Oakland.
I drug Valerie out to Santa Clara to see Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. Sadly, the museum wasn’t open but we did browse the 49ers store. Since we were in the neighborhood, I let my geek run wild by checking out the Intel museum. It was an interesting visit including a detailed display on the life and accomplishments of Intel co-founder, Robert Noyce, and the patent filed for his design of the integrated circuit. Who could have possibly seen where this seemingly simple invention would lead.
