First Motorhome Trip Begins

On June 29, 2015, we took our motorhome out of storage, hooked up the car and headed out to begin our first extended motorhome trip.  Our big picture plan is to be gone until mid-October, with our first milestone destination of Lake Tahoe.

Hooking up the car at Ralph and Carlie's

The first stop was to visit overnight with our friends Ralph & Carlie in San Fernando, CA.  They have a lovely home with a large back lot that was perfect for parking the motorhome.  After this all too brief overnight visit, we left for Bishop, CA, a mid-point stop off on the way to Lake Tahoe.  We spent two nights in Bishop and then made the remaining drive to Carson City, NV.

Arriving at Highlands RV Park in Bishop, CA

We had no need to drive the motorhome up the mountain to Lake Tahoe so we stashed it at an RV park in Carson City located on Highway 395, adjacent to a shopping center with Costco and Trader Joe’s.  So after stocking up on supplies we completed our trip to Lake Tahoe, to the terrific lakeside home of our wonderful friends Steve and Wende.

Hiking on the Flume trail

We expect to be there for about two weeks.
