As the second largest city in Argentina, Cordoba works hard to not be second class. It houses over 1.5 million people and 7 universities. It also carries the title of Cultural Capital of the Americas.
We found it to be a pleasant and convenient stopover on our way further south to Mendoza.
Looks very clean, modern and properous. Much poverty in Argentina?
Not nearly as much poverty as we have seen in other Latin American countries. Argentina has a much more prosperous economy. Cordoba has extensive pedestrian shopping streets with upscale clothing, etc. Quite busy at all times we were there. However, Argentina is struggling with rampant inflation. Officially, 10%, unofficially, 25%. If I had stocked up on USD before coming to Argentina we could be getting a much better exchange rate – they are eager to buy dollars.
